Can it be better then it was before?

Having a working relationship is dear to us all.  The one important thing that separates humans from every other living being is the capacity to love.  Thus, when we are in a loving relationship, we will try to keep it alive and working for as long as we can.  However, sometimes no matter how hard we try, a relationship can break up and end up dead in the water.  Sometimes this can be no one’s fault or in some cases, the blame can be shared by the both sides in the relationship.  (In any case no matter how bad the relationship is, there will be some fault at both sides, even in an abusive relationship).

If your relationship breaks up and you are separated from your partner, you might feel that it is the end of the world.  Actually nothing can be further from the truth as restarting your relationship and kindling the fire once again can be within your grasp.  It can even be better then it was before.  However, the first thing that you have to do is to understand what made your relationship brake down in the first place.  You must be objective in your quest and you must speak to your friends and the friends of your partner to be able to analyze yourself and the faults in your relationship.  If it is a case of two people being from two different worlds, then just walking away from that relationship can be the best thing that you can do, for both your sakes.

However, if you look back and you feel that your heart is aching and longing for the memories that you had with your partner, then that relationship can be saved and in fact, it can be much better than it was before.  However, you will need to do an honest self analysis of yourself to see your mistakes that led to the end of the relationship.  If you are at fault, an honest apology accompanied by an open account of what happened can go a long way with your partner.  If your partner is angry with you, you should talk to your partner’s friends, so that you can make sure that your apology and commitment is heard by the other side.  Sending small but meaningful gifts can go a long way to restoring a broken relationship.  You should make sure that the other side understands your sincerity and your sorrow. However, never go on guilt trips.  This means that never accuse yourself too harshly, nor your partner.  Don’t forget that both of you are human and sometimes these things can happen.  However, also don’t forget that not everyone is compatible with each other and some relationships can’t work, no matter how hard you try.  You might consider getting counseling to make the right decision.
